In the past two months, I have been a clinic intern in Healthserve. Our daily schedule for clinic days are hectic yet fulfilling: from 14:30 to 22:30, we welcome migrant brothers into our premises, arrange medical services for them, and send them off with goodies and hopefully a lighter heart.
Someone that I think I’ll remember for a long time is a Chinese brother with white hair; I left him with his phone while setting up his FWMOMCARE app, promising to attend to him in just one second. When I went back, another brother of a decidedly different race/age wordlessly taps the required details into the brother’s phone. This incident really highlighted how though we might be from vastly different backgrounds, we are united by the human condition to love and be loved. To show love for your brother/sister, as MK as that sounds, starts from the smallest hello.
